News Alert: Right To Play Office in Gaza Severely Damaged by Air Strike
Gaza, Palestinian Territories | October 12, 2023 – Right To Play is deeply distressed to report that our office in Al Remall Al Janoubi, Gaza was severely damaged by an air strike on October 10. Thankfully, no staff members were in the office at the time of the incident.
Right To Play has worked in the West Bank since 2003, and in the Gaza Strip since 2009. Our work focuses on ensuring that children have safe, inclusive learning environments that support their education and psychosocial wellbeing. In 2022, we reached 119,549 children, including 309 children with disabilities, and 22,428 refugee children. 57% of the children we reached were girls.
We are horrified to see the violence in the region, and we are deeply concerned about the humanitarian crisis that is unfolding in the Gaza Strip, and its impact on children.
We are currently working to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff. We are also working in coordination with local groups and agencies to assess the psychosocial support and educational needs of children and youth and ensure that we can respond.
To support children in crisis, donate to our Children’s Emergency Fund.
